all the rage: lacquered decor

Lacquered furniture is making a comeback my friends... it's shiny, sleek look is eye-catching and a nice blend between classic and modern. It reminds me of Carrie's Sex & the City apartment or shopping at Ted Baker!

Tell me you're not pining for all of these pieces!!

summertime shindig

In celebration of my sister Becky's birthday, we hosted some friends for a backyard barbecue. We set the scene with vintage white tablecloths, picked flowers from around the yard to create mason jar arrangements, and served in colorful bowls from anthropologie. Summertime chic and so so simple!

upside down: chalkboard walls

Transform any plain old wall into a masterpiece with chalkboard paint! This idea is just so darn fun... paint the wall behind your desk for writing notes, the kitchen cabinets for shopping lists, a loft wall for unlimited inspiration. The sky is the limit. Well no, I suppose the ceiling is.

all the rage: fig branches

Confession... I'm not confident that these ARE "all the rage", but I love them so I'm gonna say they are. And if they're not yet, well then hey, I'm a trend spotter. Fig branches add organic drama to any room! Aren't they fabulous?!

enviro meant: urban hardwoods

These wood tables from urban hardwoods are crazy beautiful!! Made in Seattle from trees that would have been discarded, each piece is one of a kind. How neat to sit at your cozy dining room table every morning and know that you gave that tree a second life. They have a showroom in San Francisco and a new one in Seattle! Have a look...
