design-centric restaurants: town hall

San Francisco's Town Hall is high on atmosphere but low on stuffiness. Housed in the early 1900's Marine Electric building, the charming brick is striking both inside and out. And the chic custom chandeliers! I know, I am obsessed with chandeliers, but how could you not be! My first experience here was lovely; I told the waiter we were celebrating a birthday and he not only brought us espressos on the house but also mini cupcakes with a candle and "happy birthday" written in chocolate! Too sweet!
